Once Again

It’s entirely possible that I have run out of things to say.

Maybe I have used up the sum total of knowledge in my brain. I have noticed that there are a few blogs that have been written a couple of times over the years. A person can be fluent in English knowing just 2000 words. I’ve used that number many times over and over again. Well, that’s kind of depressing.

I remember being told by a friend that all of the possible combinations of musical notes had been written down and copywrited. That means that anyone writing a song now is in fact plagiarizing some earlier musicians work. I imagine that there will be a flood of law suits being launched as we speak. It kind of makes sense since there is a finite amount of notes and obviously with say a billion people writing music every generation, you can’t help but duplicate someone else’s work.

The tough part in a law suit will be proving that the tune was stolen and not just created by two separate people. Most of the music will be crap anyways. Well, when I say crap I just mean music that I don’t like…crap! To tell you the truth, if someone writes a tune that is the same as a tune that I like, I come out a winner twice over. Yes, it is all about me.

Is it so much of a stretch to imagine that all things written have been written by someone before? I can remember writing essays in school and the teachers were insistent that I make a notation of all information that I got from another source. They didn’t want me to plagiarize I suppose. I could never understand what they meant. Everything I wrote down in and essay about the Silk Road and how trade along it resulted in the spread of culture as well as goods was from a book that I had taken out of the library. The only people who could write about the Silk Road without citing any other sources would have lived in the Han Dynasty.

I don’t know… Maybe that’s why I delivered mail for a living instead of unlocking the secrets of the universe.

I should go through these blogs and just recycle them. I doubt that anyone would notice, even I wouldn’t. When I read the old blogs they make sense to me but I have no memory of writing them.  Perhaps I should do a “Best Of” month. Maybe I could pick random blogs and spend some time rewriting them and giving them a little polish. I bet I could get two or three good ones.

Maybe some politician will do or say something that I can write about, the election is coming up pretty soon.
